Badminton Overview
Until recently Badminton was played under different conditions including, differing court sizes, shuttlecocks and rackets. This all changed in 1893 with the founding of the international Badminton Association of England. A set of rules was clearly identified to standardize the sport.
Today, Badminton is one of the most easily accessible of sports and appears on the schedule at most major events including the Olympics. First appearing at the Olympics as a demonstration sport in 1972 Badminton became a full Olympic Sport in 1992.
